VOLUNTER POSITION
Have you ever wanted to be part of something meaningful? Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? If you have experience with not-for-profit governance and a desire to contribute your skills, Unison is looking for new members to join our Board of Directors!
The Board of Directors is a governance and policy board that meets every two months. As stewards of Unison, Directors provide strategic direction, review financial performance, and approve the organization’s annual budget. Directors also play a vital role in representing Unison at public events and strengthening connections with the community.
We’re particularly seeking candidates with the following expertise:
- Gerontology: Familiar with all aspects of aging – physical, mental, social, cultural with the goal of improving older adult’s quality of life through policy and practice.
- Fund Development: Expertise in fundraising strategies, donor relations, and securing resources to support organizational growth.
- Strategy and Sustainability: Proven experience in corporate and social responsibility to help guide our organization’s strategic direction and ensure responsible, sustainable business practice. resources to support organizational growth.
- Government Relations: Understands the public sector funding mechanisms and grant processes, with the ability to champion Unison’s priorities across provincial and municipal levels.
- Human Resources: Supports initiatives like CEO performance reviews, director
recruitment, and annual surveys.
- Diversity and Newcomer Perspectives: Reflects the rich diversity of the communities, focusing on bridging community resources, and supporting older adults.
