Unison means coming together — even when it’s difficult.
There are times when coming together is difficult, not because of distance or money or anything like that.
Sometimes it’s hard to come together because you’re scared to be honest with how you feel.
When we are at the end of our ropes, having a hard time — or even just experiencing a bad day — the temptation to not want to “be a bother” is real.
But being honest about needing either a helping hand or a listening ear is not a sign of weakness. Knowing when you need assistance is a sign of strength.
And when you need that help when it comes to your own mental or spiritual wellness, think of Unison.
Our Medicine Hat location hosts counselling services, has different support groups, and a plethora of activities to help you connect with others.
The Unison Wellness Connection Centre in Calgary is a place where seniors can find peace in their minds, body and spirit.
It aims to support the mental health of older adults in the community with a ton of amazing programs. Everything from innovative peer counselling to grief support, music wellness and drumming circles to monthly informative presentations on how to live well.
We connect seniors with volunteers for social calls, as well as get groups of retirees together to socialize and keep busy with projects: Unison wants to ensure that no person’s wellness gets left behind.
Unison means coming together — we’re so much stronger when we’re not facing things alone.
