The holiday season at Unison Kerby Centre is busy - but fun! There's a celebration nearly every day, giving us a chance to treat the people who visit the centre in person or online. We love to see your smiling faces, to fill your bellies with delicious and carefully prepared meals, and send you home with gifts and prizes.
On December 17th, 2024, we had the opportunity to share such niceties at the Members' Christmas Luncheon. Santa was there to greet our members as they patiently filed in. Mr. Claus spread good will and cheer, and door prize tickets! The atmosphere was filled with the gentle sounds of a local flute ensemble, and beautifully handmade snowflakes spotted the gymnasium, making the gym look festive and swanky, and not at all pickleball-ready.
We had help from five amazing volunteers from Remax Complete Realty, who not only served lunch and tidied up - but donated NINE TURKEYS for the event. Matthew, our talented in-house chef, prepared a delectable meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, and veggies, with pie for dessert. To help digest, a round of Bingo made for some light fun, while others took their picture with Santa at our beautifully decorated North Pole corner.
The Holidays are a time to reflect, and we gave our members the opportunity to write their favourite Unison Kerby memory on paper ornaments, and hang them from our tree. We love seeing what made a lasting impact, and we look forward to creating new rich memories in the New Year!
