Run by volunteers, Unison is able to take seniors where they need to go. Veiner Vintage Transport remains committed to empowering older adults to maintain their independence and age in place by providing them with a reliable means of transportation. By addressing transportation barriers and ensuring access to essential services, our program contributes to an overall improvement in the quality of life for seniors in rural Alberta.

Who can access the program?

Low-income seniors who are unable to drive themselves with little to no other transportation access.

How does it work?

We provide door-to-door assisted transportation services for seniors in Medicine Hat and the surrounding rural areas, including the Counties of Forty Mile and Cypress. Our service ensures access to essential appointments, including medical and legal visits, banking, and participation in activities and events at the Veiner & Strathcona Centre

How much does it cost?

We currently have a sliding scale subsidy for our Viner Vintage transportation program. We currently, offer rides at $5 per return ride for people with annual income under $25,000 and for $10 per return ride for those between $25,001-$35,000. Older adults (55+) making over that amount are ineligible for the service.
