Wellness Market
Affordable, fresh food and essentials that help stretch tight budgets while promoting dignity and choice.
Community Kitchen
Unison, in partnership with the Root Cellar, offers monthly Community Kitchens for adults 50+ with an income of $30,000 or less. Community Kitchens go beyond cooking—they foster dignity, connection, and confidence while helping seniors stretch their budgets and access nutritious food.
How it Works
Small groups (limit 6) gather in the Root Cellar’s fully equipped kitchen. Seniors cook healthy meals together and take home 2–4 servings for later. Free of charge, with ingredients provided.
Impact
Seniors leave with not only meals for their freezer, but also new skills, friendships, and a sense of community. It helps reduce food insecurity while strengthening social connections.
