About the Program

Veiner Vintage Transport

Who can access the program?

Older adults (50+) who are unable to drive themselves and have limited or no access to other transportation options. The service provides round-trip transportation (pick-up and return).

Veiner Vintage Transport

How does it work?

We provide door-to-door assisted transportation for older adults in Medicine Hat and surrounding rural areas. Coordinated by our Transportation Facilitator, the program is supported by dedicated volunteer drivers. Clients can purchase individual ride passes or 10-ride punch cards. For each trip, a pass is provided, or the punch card is initialed — no money is exchanged with volunteers. Transportation is available for medical and legal appointments, banking, and activities at the Veiner & Strathcona Centre. Bookings are based on volunteer availability, and we recommend a 1 week notice whenever possible.

Veiner Vintage Transport

How much does it cost?

We currently offer a sliding scale subsidy for our Veiner Vintage Transportation program. Rides are provided at a subsidized rate of $5 per round-trip for individuals with a single income of $30,000 or less, or a household income of $44,000 or less. For those with incomes above these thresholds, rides are available at $10 per round-trip.
