October Hot Drinks Fest

• Where: Unison at the Kerby Centre in Calgary and Veiner Centre in Medicine Hat

October Hot Drinks Fest is a new annual festival created by Unison to celebrate local cafés, 
restaurants, and drink artisans while supporting our community. The festival will be hosted by 
Unison at the Kerby Centre in Calgary and at the Veiner Centre in Medicine Hat, expanding its 
reach to engage multiple communities across Alberta.

This is our first year hosting the festival, but Unison has a long history of organizing successful events, including the Seniors Expo and our annual golf tournament, bringing people together for fun, engagement, and fundraising.  

Throughout October, participating vendors will showcase their best hot drinks — from creative 
coffee and tea concoctions to spirited and specialty beverages. Calgarians and Medicine Hat 
residents alike can vote online via vendor QR codes or the festival website to help determine the 
winners in categories such as Most Funds Raised, Best Spirited Hot Drink, and Best Hot Drink 
Creation.

Unison a not-for-profit organization, empowers individuals aged 50 and above to lead fulfilling lives. Built upon the rich history of the Veiner Centre and Kerby Centre, we are inspired by a century of community-building and senior well-being. Adapting to evolving communication methods, we honour our legacy while expanding outreach to previously underserved seniors. With gratitude for past contributions, we take a unified step forward to ensure all seniors can live their best lives.
