Mental Health Week at Kerby Centre, Calgary

When: May 6th - May 12th 

Where: Wellness Connection Centre – Kerby Centre (1133–7 Avenue S.W. Calgary, AB, T2P1B2) 

Cost: FREE 

ALL Wellness programs will be FREE during Mental Health Week + a special workshop on Wednesday May 8th! 

Monday May 6th 

  • Meditation Monday: 10am - 10:45am (Drop-in) 
    • We all need time to relax and be present; for a clear mind and stress-free time, join us at the Wellness Connection Centre for Meditation Monday, with Amira Jacobs, a certified meditation practitioner.
  • Live Well Be Well: 11am – 12pm (Drop-in) 
    • Join our weekly wellness and mental well-being series of presentations to stay connected, engaged, and informed about your well-being while connecting with others.
  • Sound Bath Therapy: 1pm - 2:30pm (Registration required) 
    • Sound bath therapy helps to empower individuals on their journey to holistic well-being through the transformative power of sound. it provides a sanctuary of tranquility where individuals can experience profound deep relaxation, inner harmony, and self-discovery.
    • Get 5 sessions for the price of 4! Member: $80 | Non-Member: $160 (You must register for ALL sessions to get the FREE session on May 6th)

Tuesday May 7th 

  • River Walk:  10:30am - 11:30am (Drop-in) 
    • Enjoy the sights and sounds along the Bow River with our weekly walking group to move, laugh, and connect.
  • Indigenous Drumming and Storytelling: 1pm - 2:30pm (Registration required) 
    • Join to learn about the Indigenous way of drumming. "Traditional Hand Drum teachings and sacred songs. The varying beats that represent the Heartbeat of Mother Earth. Healing vibrations with understanding the spirit through this Good Medicine"

Wednesday, May 8th 

  • Grief 101 “An Introduction to Grief and Loss”: 1pm - 2:30pm (Drop-in)
    • Discussions about the Myths and Facts of grief, difference between grief and mourning, coping strategies, etc.

      This will be a workshop by Kevin Shea, a Master’s of Counseling intern from City University of Seattle.

Thursdays, May 9th 

  • Drop in at the Wellness Centre to learn about our programs and to get some resources for mental wellbeing from 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 3pm.
