Unison Calgary - Elder Abuse Shelter
The Unison Elder Abuse Shelter is for individuals of any gender — aged 55 or older — who are actively escaping abuse. The Unison Elder Abuse Shelter offers individuals a safe place to stay while actively working with caseworkers to transition back into the community safely and sustainably.

Community Outreach
Provides Elder Abuse Case Management to individuals experiencing abuse who require outreach support. To request Elder Abuse Case Management services, contact the Elder Abuse Resource Line at 403-705-3250.
Elder Abuse Education
We provide different forms of education and presentations to create awareness around elder abuse. We also provide high-level information on best practices about the realities of elder abuse. To request an Elder Abuse presentation, contact: 403-680-9000.
Elder Abuse Response Team (EART)
The Elder Abuse Response Team (EART) was established in 2011 as a collaboration between Carya, Calgary Police Service, and Unison. This multidisciplinary team of social workers and police officers work together to identify, investigate, and support high risk and/or chronic cases of elder abuse.
Our team is committed to reducing incidents of elder abuse and collaborates to:
- Respond to and investigate suspected cases of elder abuse.
- Provide support and guidance to abuse victims and their families.
- Assist other service providers working with abuse victims and provide information about elder abuse to professionals and organizations who work with older adults.
Canadian Accreditation Council of Human Services
Having met the 2019 Edition of Standards,
Accreditation is granted to Kerby Assembly (operating as Unison Alberta)
for their program Unison Elder Abuse Outreach Calgary (Community Outreach Program with Specialized Designation). Granted on the 20th of April, 2024.
