Unison at Kerby Centre’s mission is to empower individuals aged 50 and over to lead fulfilling, vibrant lives. With over 50 years of community leadership, Unison continues to evolve while staying true to its roots—offering programs and services that enrich the lives of older adults.
The On-Air Video Blog Host will serve as the primary face and voice of UnisonTV, producing and hosting a daily 30-minute show that will be live-streamed on the organization’s digital platform and archived on its YouTube channel as evergreen content.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Manager of Active Aging, this mid-level professional plays a key role in shaping Unison’s digital presence. The Host will plan, create, and deliver dynamic multimedia content that reflects Unison’s values, engages its audience, and enhances its brand visibility. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident communicator and storyteller who thrives both on camera and behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities:
• aligned with Unison’s business plan.
• Create and distribute high-quality content across all platforms (website, newsletters, social media, webinars, podcasts, blogs).
• Contribute to Unison’s s social media presence, including contributing to strategy, scheduling, content creation, and performance tracking.
• Support executives and internal teams with messaging, communication plans, and issues management.
• Provide recommendations on communications approaches to enhance engagement and mitigate risks.
• Research, write, edit, and design compelling content for newsletters, reports, social media, blogs, news releases, and other channels. Respond to member inquiries by phone and email with professionalism.
• Ensure brand consistency in tone, messaging, and visuals.
• Develop editorial calendars and support quality assurance for all content.
• Interview content area specialists live about topics relevant to seniors such as: health research, longevity research, wellness and mental health, physical fitness, investments, estate planning, retirement planning, tax planning, applying for government benefits and stories about inspiring seniors
• Assist with media relations as required, including preparing materials or supporting responses to inquiries.
• Collaborate with vendors, suppliers and sponsors as needed.
• Track analytics, prepare performance reports, and recommend adjustments
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in communications, PR, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum four (4) years of relevant communications experience (association, non-profit, government, or corporate environment).
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing content across platforms and audiences.
IT skills:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and audio-visual editing tools.
- Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Skilled in social media and digital platforms – as strong online as you are on-air
- Comfortable with tools like Wide Orbit, VoxPro, and Adobe Audition, etc

Working Conditions:

This is an in-office position based in the Calgary office.

This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm including one hour of meal break.

Available to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events or urgent issues
