Food is one of the most important and vital needs to be met in our communities. Unison’s Thrive program aims to combat hunger through a variety of projects and initiatives.

Community Food Markets Calendar

Kerby Centre Market

  • Calgary’s only senior-specific food bank
  • Supplemental no-cost food market offering choice
    through our grocery store model
  • Criteria: older adults 50+, registration required/by
    appointment only
  • Make an appointment to visit the market: 
    email thrived@unisonalberta.com

Grocery Delivery & Friendly Visits

  • Grocery shopping, delivery and friendly visits by volunteers
  • Orders can be placed once every 2 weeks
  • Criteria: low-income, homebound older adults 50+,
    requires initial home visit by Thrive staff
  • Cost: $4 delivery + cost of groceries
Community Bread Markets
  • 6 community bread markets at locations across
  • Calgary (once monthly at each location)
  • Bread and baked goods donated by local bakeries and grocery stores
  • Criteria: older adults 50+

Support our Community Canned Veggie Drive
  • Drop off canned vegetables at reception or in Room 303 throughout January 2025
  • Support the Kerby Centre Market, Calgary’s only food bank for seniors
  • Help us reach our goal of collecting 1,000 lbs. of canned vegetables
  • Together, we can make a difference in our community!
