Unison at Veiner Centre Mentoring Program
Help Us Launch Our New Mentoring Program.
Igniting the power and potential exists within young people has been the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Medicine Hat & District.
Help us launch this new program!
Our goal is to have a senior working with a child aged 6-16 one hour per week just to teach each other a new thing.
The content or context of the teaching can be changed up in subsequent weeks and let the inter-generational dynamic come together.
Here are some examples: One week, it could be the senior teaching the child about Crib / Pool, the next week it could be the senior learning an app on a smartphone or a computer program from the child.
They work one on one in a group setting, supervised by a Big Brothers Big Sisters staff member.
*Criminal Check required (ask how BBBS could help reduce the cost) whereas a child intervention check is free and can be completed online. Let us know if you need assistance. A BBBS staff (Melissa) can assist.
Contact us at Veiner Centre 403-529-8307 for details.
