When faced with an advanced illness, it is very natural to experience grief. How you process grief can create ripples in many areas of your life, including your sense of identity, your spiritual beliefs and interpersonal relationships.
This presentation will provide an overview of the Living with Advanced Illness Centre’s services available in supporting individuals, children, families and other loved ones faced with an advanced illness.

Ruth Kohut, Director of the Living with Advanced Illness has over 4 decades of health care experience which spans from front-line nursing, genetic counselling to national birth defects surveillance and reporting and hospital administration. Patient centred care principles have guided her career throughout the years. Ruth values her time working with the Living with Advanced Illness Centre as it provides an opportunity to empower and support people and families at such a critical time in life. She also values her own family and pet therapy dog, Tumi.
